July 11 — History, Meal House & Bad Idea Brew

We begin our day at Cracker Barrel in Franklin 4210 Franklin Commons Ct, Franklin, TN 37067 at 9:00 AM and depart at 9:30 AM and cruise down I-65 to Spring Hill for a bit of Area History

The historic Rippavilla Plantation, 5700 Main St, Spring Hill, TN, is situated on 100 pristine acres in Maury County, Tennessee. The plantation grounds feature the mansion home, Freeman’s Bureau school house and the Rippavilla Plantation Museum Gift Shop.

Started in 1852 and completed in 1855, Rippavilla Plantation was the home of French Huguenot, Nathaniel F. Cheairs IV and his wife, Susan. Rippavilla is a fully restored 1850’s Greek Revival mansion, stocked with original Cheairs family heirlooms, priceless antiques, original works of art and rare civil war artifacts.
Tours are on the half hour, cost $15.00 for Adults and $13.00 for Seniors.

11:30-ish, we will travel to intersection of Hwys 431 & 99 to Marcy Jo’s Meal House east of Columbia,TN for rustic old time lunch or breakfast if you wish.  Menu

From there, we will travel back roads to Columbia, literally, the back-way for the next hour or so.  We’ll end up in Columbia (surprise) and travel to Bad Idea Brewing Company to “top off” the day.  They will have music, a food truck and of course Brews for your enjoyment.

From here your on your own and please drive carefe(fully) back home.

Manson Tour group size will be limited to 10-ish, however, grounds, gift shop will be open to others. A maximum of 20 folks for the run.  So sign up early!
