Nov 6 — Veterans Day Parade

20171111 091946

Sponsored by the Steele’s

For many years, too many to recall how many, the membership of the Music City Miata Club had the chance to show it’s appreciation for all the United States Armed Services and for all that they do to secure and maintain our many freedoms and blessings. This year, the Club will once again participate in the Clarksville Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 6th.

Vets DayWe will meet at the McDonald’s Restaurant off I-24, Exit 4 @ 3078 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. (note there are several McD’s in Clarksville) for the Drivers Meeting @ 7:45 a.m.  We will depart sharply at 8:00 to the staging area to decorate our cars.  ****Allow extra time if you plan on having breakfast there as the “drive-through or indoor lines” may take awhile! (as of this past week all of the Clarksville fast food restaurants on Wilma Rudolph Blvd were drive-through only; Shoney’s and Cracker Barrel appeared to have open dining rooms)

Once at staging area we will have plenty of time to dress our Miatas patriotically in red, white, blue and add a touch for this year’s parade theme “Veterans In Education”!  We will also have our FM transmitter in service to trumpet some up-tempo patriotic music to accompany our parade movement.  For new members here are a few ideas for decorating cars:  large stuffed animals, magnetic patriotic stick on’s, tinsel, flags, large photos of family or friends in uniform, etc.  Parade starts at 10:00.

Following the parade, we will undress our cars then hit the highways to eat at one of our favorite eating places, Riverview Restaurant & Marina, 110 River Road, Ashland City, TN.

Please note that we will not be at Cars & Coffee & the November Meeting will be at Riverview Restaurant. If you are not attending the parade but would like to join us for lunch and the meeting, please plan on arriving at Riverview around noon; can’t give a definite time the parade participants will arrive as we don’t know how long this year’s parade will be.

RSVP for either or both events no later than Tuesday November 2nd at lasteele@charter.net, or call (615) 218-9662 (Lou Ann cell)  (NO CANDY PARADE)

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
