Sometimes you just want to be alone, or be “alone” with a partner, and take a leisurely, scenic drive with the top down and the wind in your hair. Stop whenever you want for as long as you want. Go as far or as little as you want. But where should we go?
We’re here to help. Your Music City Miata Club is working on capturing some of our favorite rides and posting the routes here. We’re working on making GPS files available for download and Google Maps links so you can follow on your cellphone.
Watch for updates soon!

Golly G’s Coffee, Ice Cream & Sweets
It’s a local favorite in Pleasant View with absolutely nothing on the menu that is good for you. They have amazing pastry’s, coffee, and a small lunch menu.
But for some of us, the biggest attraction is … ICE CREAM! They make their own homemade ice cream with flavors like Loaded!, Oreo Speedwagon, and Salty Carmel, to name a few. You may want to bring a cooler to take home some of your favorites.

Gobbler, Porker, & Wow Now Brownie Cow
Let’s sleep late and take a leisurely backroads ride for lunch at famous Chaney’s Dairy Barn!
It’s a favorite destination just outside of Bowling Green with a menu that presents sandwich-favorites like the Gobbler, Porker, and Dairy-Aire. And, beyond lunch, there’s lots to see at and around the store, including the gift shop, farm and corn maze!
But for some of us, the biggest attraction is … ICE CREAM! Their homemade ice cream is made from milk and cream from their own Jersey Cows, with flavors like Bourbon Crunch, Chunky Monkey, Cookie MOOnster, and How Now Brownie Cow, to name a few. You may want to bring a cooler to take home some of your favorites.

Percy, Cordell, Bull & Gran
Start at Cracker Barrel near Percy Priest Dam, I-40 East, Stewarts Ferry Road Exit 219 beginning at 9:30am. Jump on I-40 East to get to the good stuff without delay, exiting at HWY 53 toward Carthage.
After a cruise through Carthage, head North to the “good stuff” — scenic Rts 25, 80 and 85 to Gaineboro with a stop at the scenic overlook of Cordell Hull Reservoir & Dam — and clean restrooms
Then, shadow the upper Cumberland River into Gainesboro, population 962, settled in the 1790’s and named after Edmund Pendleton Gaines, a career US Army Officer.
There, lunch awaits — The Bull & Thistle — Fine Celtic Fare on the Square! They have a great menu with something for everyone, including something to quench your perishing thirst.
But wait — there’s more!
After lunch, head back West and homeward, but the scenic roads are hardly over! Take the equally scenic Granville Hwy along the South side of the Cumberland River through Poor House Hollow, Buffalo Hollow, Pinhook Hollow and into Historic Granville. Depending on your available time make a short stop at Sutton’s General Store.
From there, it’s Rt 53 Southwest to I-40 West and home.
