THE DRAGON CALLS
The Music City Miata club will make it’s annual trek to Deals Gap on the first weekend of August. This is the annual MIATAS AT THE GAP which usually includes 200 to 300 cars from around the country.
Sherpa Dave Williams will guide the expedition to base camp at the Quality Inn of Robbinsville. We’ll all meet for a not-so-secret breakfast in Murfreesboro at the Cracker Barrel. In fact, all members are welcome to come out and join us — whether you’re headed to the mountains or not. Come out and have breakfast with us! The Cracker Barrel is at 2115 S. Church. From Nashville, take Exit 81 B off I-24. The group will have a short drivers meeting at 8:15 and leave at 8:30 with full bellies and empty bladders.
Once the group arrives and checks in at the hotel, we’ll have dinner at our traditional ”first night” stop, Lynn’s restaura
nt. Afterwards, back to the hotel for a good night’s rest.
On Friday morning, after a run thru the Dragon (for the adventurous), we’ll assemble at the hotel and head out on a scenic run to Highlands NC . A beautiful little town in the mountains. After some sightseeing and shopping, we’ll head back to Robbinsville for some dinner at TBD.
On Saturday morning, we’ll head over to Fontana Lodge and explore the Miata Vendors area. Afterwards, we’ll head out on another scenic drive TBD to enjoy the sights and sounds of the NC mountains.
For those of you who haven’t been before, Robbinsville is a “dry” county, so if you wish to have any Adult beverages, you must bring them with you. It’s been our experience, enjoying the company of the Miata owners outside the hotel in the evening is a Big part of the pleasure and gratification of Miatas At The Gap.
