Friends, Food, Fun
Since the traditional Nashville fireworks has been downsized and questionable, Phil & Lois Matisak have instead invited the Club to their Mt Juliet home on Old Hickory Lake for a traditional day of celebration with friends, food, games and socializing. Weather permitting will be serving out around the pool — and in it — which all are welcome to enjoy.
We’ll be starting around 3pm at their home on Old Hickory Lake. Bring your favorite chair in a bag. They will be arranging for the main course, Famous Dave’s Ribs and Chicken Wings. Cost per person is $11.00. Participants are asked to bring a side to share to round out the fixin’s.
Mixers and soft drinks and some beer will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own choice of adult beverage, if you care to indulge.
Besides the traditional horseshoes and cornhole, other competitions may include axe-throwing, as well as the Club favorite — the pointy stick competition. We’ll also have a few friendly competitions for best patriotic wardrobe, and 4th of July Trivia.
July Club membership meeting after Cars & Coffee
Earlier in the day, we will also conduct our July Club Membership Meeting in Franklin after the Cars & Coffee gathering in the Carmike Theater parking lot. See more details.
As far as fireworks, some may be viewable across the lake. They’ll be lots shot off in the neighborhood; your welcome to bring your own.
We hope you’ll polish up your Miatas; put them on display on the grass in the front yard, and join us for a day of relaxing, eating, telling stories and just foolin’ around! If you would like to come by boat, there is room for a few boats to tie up at their dock. Contact Phil & Lois for directions by water.
So, let’s celebrate the 4th of July and the blessings we enjoy in this country, despite recent turbulent times.
Please RSVP to Lois & Phil by June 28 to lois.matisak@comcast.net to let us know you’re coming and what side dish you plan to bring. Checks should be made out to Music City Miata Club. Address to be provided in response to RSVP.
Hope to see you on the 4th!
