Ready for a little slice of small-town America? What could be more fun than an RC and a Moon Pie. Let’s join in the festivities in Bell Buckle as they spend the day celebrating an iconic cake treat. Will we all get Mayberry flashbacks?
We will begin the day with a driver’s meeting at 9:00 AM, where else but a Cracker Barrel. The one at Exit 81 off I24, 2115 S Church St., Murfreesboro, TN. From there we will depart at 9:30 AM for a short trip to the festival in Bell Buckle. Come earlier if you want to fill that tummy before we start.
We should be there a bit after 10 AM and by the time we park we will have plenty of time to see the Southern Country Cloggers at 10:45 AM. If you prefer the Craft Fair will be in full swing as it started at 9 AM. For those of you that have been to Bell Buckle before know of the variety of shops and a great ice cream store. I don’t think many of you are interested in the 10-mile run. We are drivers, not runners, but we will all enjoy the RC Moon Pie Parade at 11:30 AM and the King and Queen Coronation at 11:45 AM. The Speakeasy Classic Rock Band take stage at 12:30 PM.
We will be skipping the Prizes and Awards as we will be heading back to the highway at 1:00 PM to travel some more Tennessee backroads for close to an hour on our way to Wartrace. We have reservation at the Iron Horse for a late lunch at 2:00 PM. Hope you did not fill up at the food trucks in Bell Buckle.
We will split on your own to find your way back to civilization after lunch. All told, not a bad day!
