Autocross Events 6 and 7

The Music City Miata Club is organizing members to participate in the Tennessee Region SCCA Autocross events for the 2022 calendar year. Both Events are scheduled for the weekend of October 29th at the   NCM Autocross Pad in Bowling Green KY.

A single day costs $40 for SCCA Members and $50 for Non-SCCA Members ($75 and $95 for both days) and take place on a large asphalt pad designed specifically for Autocross. There are generally no more than 2 cars on the track (separated by approximately 30 seconds) at a time. The course is laid out with orange traffic cones and the setup is unique for each event. The focus is on friendly competition and not speed – most of the course is spent in 1st and 2nd gear in a Miata.

Saturday will be unique – after the normal runs, the day will be capped off by having a Novice, Ladies, and PAX Bracket shootout. More details to come but think of a looped autocross course, street race negotiations (get or give a car length or maybe the “hit”) and race back to your starting positions.

Saturday will also be full of raffles thanks to SCCA’s generous sponsors. Each competitor will receive a raffle ticket with their entry. Raffle prizes will be done on Saturday and you must be present to claim your prize.

To participate, register online with the TRSCCA (Link) and then bring your Miata, Snell 2010 or later certified helmet, sunscreen, a lunch and plenty of non-alcoholic refreshments and join us for a great time with our Miata’s in their natural habitat.

We will meet up at the Goodlettsville Cracker Barrel (235 Long Hollow Pike, Goodlettsville TN 37072, I-65 Exit 97) at 6:45 AM for a drivers meeting and will leave promptly at 7 AM. Spectators are allowed but are required to sign a waiver to attend.

DO CHECK with your insurance agent as some policies do not cover damage to your car, liability and/or personal injury at or on a race track.
