Minutes of Board Members Meeting

February 2, 2020

Sportsman’s Grille, Franklin, TN

The meeting of the Music City Miata Club Board Members was held February 2, 2020 at the Sportsman’s Grille, Franklin, TN with eight board members present.

Board present:  President Jerry Hammock, VP & President Elect David Gauvin, Past President Lois Matisak, Treasurer Laura Key, Communications Director Denny Rowlett, Historian Dorothy Gauvin, Secretary Stephanie Tankersley, and Events and Membership Chairman Greg Johnson.

The President, Jerry Hammock, called the meeting to order at 1:20 p.m.

Jerry Hammock brought up the Event’s Sponsor Program to the board because of some concerns voiced about the amount of funds that would be allocated for the prize money. Prize money suggested for 2020 would be 1st place-$300.00, 2nd place-$200.00, and 3rd place-$100.00. Jerry explained that in 2005 the program allocated funds to cover the prizes of $300.00, 2012 again funds were allocated in the amount to cover the prizes of $300.00. Jerry suggested that the increase for 2020 in the amount of $600.00 was a reasonable increase for the amount of years that had gone by since the program had first been initiated. Jerry asked for a vote on this increase of prize money and all present board members voted yes to the increase since it had been 15 years since the inception of this program.

Jerry Hammock also asked for board members approval of allowing the Board to appoint Members at Large for center club needs. This appointment for a Member at Large will be for a one year period. Members voted on the appointment of Phil Matisak as a Member at Large on February 2, 2020.  All present board members voted yes.

Past-President:  Lois Matisak has opened her home for the July monthly membership meeting instead of meeting at The Sportsman Grille due to it falling on the same day as the General Jackson Fourth of July event. The Matisaks are planning a cookout for July and suggested the meeting be at the same time. Lois and Phil will let the board know the date for this membership meeting/cookout.

New Business: Insurance premiums were voted on by email by the board members.

Meeting was adjourned at 1:45 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Stephanie Tankersley

Recording Secretary
