Watch one the top-rated fireworks shows in the nation from the upper deck of the General Jackson Showboat after a dinner during a leisurely  cruise down the Cumberland River from Opryland to Riverfront Park.

Sponsored by: Marilyn and Greg Johnson

Due to many requests we will be returning to the General Jackson Show Boat for the 4th of July this year. For those in the “Know” Nashville is supposed to be one of the biggest fireworks show in the USA. But standing in the massive crowds and putting up with the traffic jams both before and after, hunting down a parking place, not so much fun.  There is however a great solution for this problem, The General Jackson Showboat River Cruise. Let the boat take us to the heart of the fireworks show.

Those that made this event last time rate this among the top trips of the year. Don’t be left out.

The General Jackson leaves from Opry Mills for the evening cruise down the river boarding at 6:15 and departs the dock at 7:00 PM. There will be plenty of parking and minimum crowds. Include is a full buffet dinner (at 6:15), deck side entertainment and Great River Viewing to keep us entertained as we travel to Nashville. Yes, cash bar available. There is some covered area on the Hurricane Deck that will fit most of the top deck passengers if the weather turns on us. Be prepared, dress for the weather.

The Jackson then hangs out on the river in Nashville, for the best viewing of the fantastic fireworks show. Top deck is the best viewing and has been recommended by club members that have done this before. We get back at the dock around midnight and we can drive home missing the huge traffic jams and hassle in Nashville.

Yes, it is a bit pricey at $100 per person but it is a once (or twice, maybe three times) in a lifetime event — and you can get it off that dubious bucket list.  Sorry no group discounts as this is a sell out every year.

FYI, there is inside seating and a family style dinner with stage show with reserved seating available directly from the General Jackson but you will not be with the club. Most of us will be topside for the better viewing. Lower deck passengers cannot go topside for the fireworks but there is outside viewing on that deck.

As there is no reserved seating or group discounts for the Hurricane Deck where we will be sitting. Last time many members had difficulty making reservations with the General Jackson. Most members tried booking with the general office but our reservations are with the group office. To eliminate this and make it easy peasy, just book your tickets with me and I will run interference with corporate America.

I have booked 48 tickets (all that were left on January 7 when I book our reservations). These are on a first come bases. E mail me at Greg@GregConnected.com and let me know how many tickets you want. I will let you know if they are available. Then I will need a check for the $100.00 per person made out to MCMC. Mail your check to:

Gregory Johnson
4640 Burt Burgen Road
Bradyville, TN 37026

When I receive your check, I will confirm your reservations. Tickets will be distributed to you the day of the cruise as you board the General Jackson. I will be there (or my stand-in) to distribute the tickets dockside. Move fast if you are interested as 48 tickets will go fast and early.

Bring your camera and your excitement; this should be a special event.
Any questions, e mail greg@gregconnected.com or call Greg at 615-714-4530.

No Zoom Zooming this event, just park and get on the boat. Sorry, no refunds if you miss the boat.
