On May 21st Gregg and Chere’ Mikos take us west to Jackson TN where we will visit Rusty’s TV and Movie Car Museum and Casey Jone’s Village.  Rusty’s Museum (as seen on TN Crossroads) has over 50 iconic cars, trucks, motorcycles and props, that have been used in movies and TV.  Admission is just $10.
Casey Jones Village is a great destination all by itself.  We’ll eat lunch at the world-famous Old Country Store.  Their buffet is known for fresh homemade southern country cookin that will bring back memories of Sunday dinner at Grandma’s.  Hope you saved room for dessert cause right around the corner is an old-fashioned ice cream parlor.  The Old Country Store Ice Cream Parlor & Fudge Shop was named by USA Today as one of the 50 best ice cream parlors in the country.  If you can still walk, we’ll browse the various shops on the square and mosey over to the Casey Jones Railroad Museum.  Yes, Casey Jones was a real man and the museum features exhibits dedicated to his life and famous last ride.  See his home, a 35-ton locomotive, Pullman car and more all for a $5 discounted group admission (cash only for the discount).

We’ll begin our journey at the Twice Daily located immediately off of I-40 at the McCrory Lane Exit (exit 192).  We’ll gather at 7:30, have a brief driver’s meeting and will pull out promptly at 8:00.  Be sure to have a full tank, full stomach and empty bladder.  Freeway miles will be kept to a minimum and be combined with some great twisty two-lanes that will put the zoom back into your zoom-zoom.

On the way we’ll stop at Overholts Farm Market for a rest, a snack and a chance to peruse the locally sourced Amish/Mennonite merchandise.  Upon arriving in Jackson we will take in Rusty’s and then head over to the nearby Casey Jones Village.  After lunch, members can take as much time as they like at the Village and then head home when they are ready.  Nashville is just under two hours away on I-40.

We hope that you can join us for what will be a memorable day during the heart of Spring.  If you want to go, let the Mikos’ know via email at TennMikos@comcast.net no later than Tuesday the 17th
